Santa Cruz Psychotherapy and Counseling for Adults and Children

As your ally, I offer compassionate therapy and counseling for adults and older children in either English or Spanish. I am experienced in helping those who are struggling with grief, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. Together we create a caring, respectful therapeutic relationship, which is the foundation for positive change in therapy.

My holistic approach respectfully works with all aspects of a person: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, sexual, and cultural. I trained in Brainspotting, Hakomi and NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) and use mindfulness to facilitate experiential, body-centered therapy so that clients can experience a new relationship with themselves and with others. To encourage well-being, I support people with identifying and strengthening their internal and external resources in order to meet life's challenges with more resiliency.

My work and travel on various continents has provided me with a cross-cultural perspective, and I am very experienced working with multicultural clients. I am familiar with the challenges of first-generation students and can help them navigate new spaces and the feelings that these spaces evoke.

I have many years of experience working with children who have suffered from the impact of grief or trauma. I facilitate art and play therapy to provide children a safe place to process emotions and overcome challenges. Developmentally appropriate education is also needed in order for children to better understand what they are experiencing. With all children, I work to develop resiliency by teaching them to access internal resources that will support them as they grow. I offer parent consultations in order for the parents to learn how to best support their children at home and in their communities.
